Classic Women Pumps

For centuries women have loved the idea of looking taller by wearing high heel shoes.  There is nothing easier for a woman to add that extra attraction factor by wearing women pumps.  Not only do they make a woman look taller, they elongate the legs and make the calves flex, giving that sleek and lean look.  Adding a pair of classic pumps to your outfit just seems to give you a bit more confidence and a feeling of power.  From blue jeans, to a wedding dress, to the business suit, there seems to be a pump style to fit any occasion.

As shoe designers have introduced new looks to pumps, there seems to be a few styles that remain ever popular.  Let’s take a look at these classic pump styles, and see what makes them a must have for any woman.

Black Leather Pump

The black leather pump is at the top of the list for the classics.  What makes this pump so popular?  This shoe can be worn with just about anything, for just about any occasion.  This shoe is the bread and butter of your wardrobe.  The black pump can be styled with soft leather, black patent, or even sometimes a vinyl look.  This shoe typically has a two or three inch heel, a leather upper, with padded insoles for comfort.  The toe style is usually rounded for every day wear, and for evenings a narrow toed pump is best.  The black leather pump can have a casual look like with the rounded toe black matte finish leather shoe.  Or, if you want to look really stylish and add that attractive flair, the black patent leather narrow toed pump is hard to beat.

Stilettos

Only the daring woman wears Stiletto pumps, and she is a woman of confidence and power.  These shoes can make the perfect outfit look absolutely stunning.  Stilettos are the highest of all the heels, typically 4 inches, but they can go as high as 8 inches.  The word stiletto is a Latin derivative that means small metal dagger.  Stiletto heels are long and thin and can be difficult to walk in because they provide very little surface are to walk on.  These pumps are often worn with dresses that are knee length or shorter, skirts that make a statement.

Platforms

Platforms have become a staple and this style of pump makes it chic to be square.  Even though they are an old school 1970s throwback, they have remained ever popular.  This style of pump uses a thick soul that gives a woman an elevated look, almost like she is walking on a platform.  Platform shoes can be worn to make a statement that you are hip and fashionable, and ready for the party.  They with many different materials and toes, but the classic platform look is ever popular.

The Kitten Heel

The Kitten Heel pump is a shoe that has a much shorter heel.  In the 1950s these were originally called trainer heels, because the shoes were designed to help young girls get used to wearing high heels.  The heels are usually one and one half inches or less, and it meets the shoe at its widest place.  The Kitten Heel is sometimes worn by women who like a shorter heel, but still want the look of a pump.  High quality Kitten Heels will come with leather uppers and can be worn with most styles of clothing.

I am sure there are other styles of pumps, but these seem to be the timeless classics for women pumps.
